Home

I love the home that The Mr and I share.
Although it may not be a mansion, it is ours.
We have each other and that's most important.

However, I don't think I was quite as prepared for leaving my hometown.
Yes, I'm aware that I only moved about 30 minutes down the road.
But still, my parents, my siblings, my nephew & nieces, my Mamaw all live in Franklin.
I think I took for granted that I could see them whenever I wanted.
I'm slowly feeling as if I've lost a part of me because I don't get to see them as often.
I knew marriage/moving was going to be an adjustment, but I hadn't prepared as well as I thought.

I can handle living in "mustang" country.  (I'll always be a Panther at heart.)
I can handle the insane traffic caused by WCU traffic.
I can handle living in the boondocks with my man.
However, I'm struggling with missing my family.

Don't get me wrong, I still talk to my family quite often.
But there is something about seeing them in the flesh that does something for the soul.
I am thankful that the distance between us is only 30 minutes opposed to 30 hours.
It could always be worse.
I love you, family!

Bad Day

A couple weeks ago (on what could have been the coldest morning of our so far mild winter) this is what welcomed me when I came out of class...

*Thank you WCU Parking Police*

I had a bright orange sticker stuck to my window telling me to go to Parking Services.
I had no idea I was parking in faculty/staff parking.
Although I am a student at WCU, I have no idea where 99% of the buildings are located on campus.
I called the number, the lady tried to give me directions.  I was clueless.
I traipsed across campus, losing feeling in my fingers and toes as I continued my journey.
I finally found the building, was informed I would have to pay $50 and they sent someone to take the boot off my car.
By the time I got back to my car, I could not feel any part of my body.

Only good thing that came out of this:  I found the Starbucks on campus!

My Valentine

I am so excited that I get to spend Valentine's Day with my Forever Valentine.
This is our first V-day as married Valentines.
It makes my heart sing a song.

A few weeks ago, I saw a post by Six Sisters on 14 Days of Valentines
Since Feb 1st I have been giving the Mr. a Valentine each day.
He loves it.
Actually, he thinks I'm silly but he still loves me that way.

Day 1:  We make a great "combo!"

Day 2: I'm "nuts" about you!

Day 3:  I'm "bananas" for you!

Day 4:  We were "mint" to be together!

Day 5: I wouldn't "chews" anyone but you!

Day 6:  I would be so "mix"ed up without you!

Day 7:  You are the "apple" of my eye!

Day 8:  Life would be un"bear"able without you!

Day 9:  Thanks for "stick"ing by my side!

Day 10:  "Honey Comb" your hair because we've got a date tonight!

Day 11:  You have o"fish"ally stolen my heart!

Day 12:  I think you are "soda" amazing!

Day 13:  You are one "hot tamale!"

Day 14:  You make my heart "bubble" over!
